Karel Van Velthoven - Founder

Born and raised in Belgium, Karel has built an International career spanning more than 25 years in sales, marketing and business development. His work has taken him across Europe, Asia and the U.S., giving him firsthand experience with different cultures, consumer preferences, and food traditions.

After spending more than 15 years in the global food processing industry and traveling extensively throughout the United States, Karel recognized a surprising gap in the availability of many authentic European premium food products. When he became a U.S. Permanent Resident, he founded Exquisite Foods with a simple mission: to bring exceptional European food heritage and experiences to American consumers.

His Belgian roots have taught him that great food is about good taste and even more so about creating moments and experiences that bring people together and has the power to brighten everyday life. A philosophy that can be summed up in a simple phrase: Good Food. Good Mood.

When he’s not building brands or discovering new food products, Karel enjoys running, hiking in the Colorado Rockies, traveling, and spending time with his wife Sarah and their Mini Bernedoodle, Lumi.

Sarah Muller - Co-Founder

Sarah is a U.S. citizen, with a career as Dental Hygienist. Born in Minnesota, she moved to Colorado 20 years ago, and never left.

Her international travel and dental volunteer work have brought her all over the world and ignited her strong passion for different food cultures and the desire to have more premium-quality foods available in the U.S.

In her free-time Sarah is enjoying all possible Rocky Mountain activities, from snowboarding in winter to hiking and biking in summer.

Jeremy Atencio - Business Development

Jeremy is a U.S. citizen, born and raised in Colorado.

As a corporate attorney with 25+ years experience advising clients on complex legal and business matters, Jeremy has extensive experience working with both start-ups and multi-national publicly traded companies.

Jeremy has traveled all 5 continents in professional and personal capacities, and enjoys making new food discoveries.

In his spare time Jeremy has a passion for snowboarding, walking his dog Booker (an adorable Lakeland Terrier) and enjoying the active Colorado lifestyle.
